When a photo is the only option
Plenty of tables only exist on paper: a supplier's printed price sheet, a form filled out by hand, a page from a document nobody digitized. A phone photo is often the fastest way to get that data into a spreadsheet — faster than typing it, and without needing a scanner.
Getting a usable photo
Extraction quality tracks photo quality closely. A few habits make a large difference:
- Shoot straight-on rather than at an angle, to avoid perspective distortion
- Use even lighting — a hard shadow across half the table will cost you those cells
- Fill the frame with the table; avoid cropping into the edges
- For handwriting, expect lower confidence and plan to double-check every cell

It can attempt handwriting, but accuracy is lower than printed text. The preview flags low-confidence results so you know to check them closely before exporting.
Moderate perspective skew is usually handled fine. Extreme angles or curled pages are more likely to produce a garbled result — retake the photo straight-on if that happens.
On Free or Pro, take a screenshot of the PDF page first, then upload that. Premium can upload the PDF directly and pick the page to convert.
